Alexandria and Dean are New Yorkers, but they decided to get married in San Antonio so they could celebrate with Alex’s grandparents.

img_0496blog.jpg

Alex was a knock-out!

img_0560ablog.jpg

Dean and his groomsmen had this great idea to re-enact the “Evolution of Man.” Hilarious!!

img_0569blog.jpg

Alex and Dean decided to go with a less-traditional first dance and entertained the crowd with a dance ala Pulp Fiction. They were fabulous!

img_0639blog.jpg

They passed out cowboy hats to all of the guests during the reception. They were a huge hit!

img_0833blog.jpg

Alexandria and Dean are our second New York couple of this year, and I gotta say, I’m lovin’ the New Yorkers! These two were so cool and easy-going and had a blast celebrating with their friends and family.  They were married at the Little Church of La Villita, an adorable little historic chapel in San Antonio.  The reception followed at The Westin Hotel, just a short walk from the chapel along the Riverwalk.

Congratulations Alex and Dean! We had a great time celebrating with you! Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon!

Killer shoes!

img_3903ablog.jpg

This is where the fun begins.

img_3949a.jpg

Everything was going great, until the zipper on Lani’s dress broke! After about 30 minutes of the bridesmaids and Lani’s mom trying their best to repair the zipper, they decided to sew Lani into her dress!  Luckily, Lani’s aunt and uncle are skilled tailors. They saved the day!!

The flowergirls were waiting patiently.

While the boys were starting to get a little rowdy:)
img_4069a.jpg

Now this is a cool bride. Look at the smile on Lani’s face as her Aunt and Uncle spend close to an hour sewing her into her dress as everyone waited outside.

This is a Jewish tradition where the groom “meets” his bride before the actual ceremony.

Lani and Dan are New Yorkers, so we didn’t meet them until we arrived in Acapulco to shoot their wedding.   As soon as we met them, they made us feel so welcome and we had such an amazing time documenting their big day.   Their Jewish wedding was  filled with beautiful traditions and customs.  And you could see how much it meant to Lani and Dan to have their friends and family to share such a special day with them in gorgeous Acapulco.

Congratulations to you Lani and Dan! We’re so glad that we got to share your big day with you in Acapulco!!

CJ and I had some adventures of our own after the wedding, which I’ll be posting very soon!

Candice looked soooo pretty!

Tim is such a cool guy. He chose to play reggae and dub music during the first half of the reception (our favorite) and even gave us a copy of the CD. Thanks Tim! We listened to it while we edited your photos:)

tim-the-man.jpg

Candice and Tim wanted to see each other before the ceremony, so we were able to get some great shots while we still had some light, even though it was freeeezing!! Well worth it.

During her sister’s toasts, they were telling a story about Candice teaching them how to ride bikes when they were little.  And Candice told them that when they wanted to stop, to just jump off! It was really cute.

Now this is  talented woman. Mozelle Felder, who used to sing in a gospel group with Warren’s mother when Warren was a kid, sang a capella during the ceremony.  She’s also performed in an off broadway musical as Mahalia Jackson.  Her voice is just incredible. img_3893bblog.jpg

The dark clouds threatened rain all day, but luckily the showers held off until after Margaret and Warren’s beautiful outdoor ceremony at The Winfield Inn.  They were surrounded by friends and family as they said their vows under the huge oak trees.   And then the party really got started. As soon as the DJ started in the with the first song, Warren hit the dancefloor and got everyone out of their seats. It was such a fun reception and it looked like everyone was having a blast!

Congratulations Warren and Margaret!! Y’all sure know how to throw a party!

I love all of the action going on in this shot. Notice the beer bottle directly below the lens and the shadow of the groomsman taking a swig.  Nice!

img_2577b.jpg

This might be my all-time favorite reception shot. They got inspired by Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and actually poured sugar all over Kristin’s chest.  And then someone had to help her get cleaned up, right? Chase is such a gentleman.

Well, Laurie told me that her friends planned on partying at their reception, and they did not disappoint!! CJ and I had such an awesome time at Laurie and Chad’s wedding.  They have such a huge group of close friends and you can tell how much they all love Laurie and Chad. This was the first reception I’ve seen where the mic got passed through the crowd during the toast and at least 20 people wanted to share some kind words for the bride and groom. They are definitely well-loved. And I can see why.

Laurie and Chad chose to get married on the same date as Laurie’s grandparent’s and great-grandparent’s anniversary, so their wedding held extra special meaning for them. They’ve been together over 10 years, so it was perfect that they dance their first dance to Etta James’  “At Last.” Congratulations to you Laurie and Chad!
